COCO COIR 5 KG BLOCK (LOW EC / WASHED)

Coco Coir 5kg Block – Low EC / Washed

Create your ideal growing mix with Tropikol’s washed, low-EC coco coir. Made from coconut husks, this peat-free growing medium holds moisture while maintaining an airy structure around roots. Each compact 5kg block expands to approximately 75-80 litres when hydrated.

Key benefits

• Washed, low EC: Processed to reduce soluble salts, giving you greater control over your feeding programme.

• Moisture retention: Helps maintain moisture between waterings.

• Airy structure: Supports drainage and aeration when used in a suitable growing mix.

• Peat-free: Made from coconut husks as an alternative to peat.

• Compact and convenient: Easy to store and transport before hydration.

• Versatile: Use as a growing-medium base or blend with perlite, compost and other suitable ingredients.

Suitable for

Seed-starting mixes, potting blends, containers, raised beds, vegetables, flowers and houseplants.

How to prepare

Place the block in a large container and add water gradually, following the pack instructions. Allow it to absorb the water and expand, then loosen and fluff until evenly hydrated. Blend as needed for your plants.

Feeding and buffering

Coco coir provides little plant nutrition, so use a suitable fertiliser programme. This product is washed but not calcium–magnesium buffered. For applications requiring pre-buffered coir, choose Tropikol Buffered Coco Coir.
